A 2-hour webinar
On November 10, 2011, both the U.S. EPA and California Certified Unified Program Agencies (CUPAs) will begin enforcing the postponed August 2002 federal Clean Water Act Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) regulation [40 CFR § 112]. This webinar will review applicability of SPCC and California’s Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act (APSA) requirements to facilities in the state, and the regulatory and physical spill control requirements based on the SPCC rules’ tiered approach. If your facility has 1,320 gallons or more of oil in containers, vessels, or equipment of 55-gallons capacity or more, it is covered and needs to be in full compliance. This webinar will answer the following types of questions:
- Exactly how is operating equipment with hydraulic oil regulated? For example, elevators, power presses, and transformers.
- What more do I need if my facility has less than 10,000 gallons of oil and I have completed the Tier I template form?
- What constitutes a compliant tank inspection and structural integrity assessment for a Professional Engineer-exempt facility?
- What should be done if the facility’s oils are California APSA exempt, like vegetable oils?
- What are the criteria for secondary containment for container storage, tank systems, and operating equipment?
These and other important questions will be answered during this program. There is still time to get into compliance!
